Hyderabad Meteorological department extended heat wave alert to all parts of the state.
The decision to extend the alert was taken in the context of the hot north westerly becoming intense by the day. The alert was earlier given only in the coastal areas. Temperatures have also climbed upto 45 degrees in almost all parts of the state. The state capital was also under the grip of saturday's temperature touching an all time the high of 42 degrees. Hot winds added to the misery of the populace.
This is a typical summer with temperature touching around 45 degrees in several parts of Telangana and south coastal areas, said the meteoroligical officials. The north westerly winds coming from Pakistan and Afhghanistan are adding to the heat in the state. Parts of Telangana including Nizamabad, Medak and Nalgonda have been recording temperatures between 44 to 45 degrees in the last few days. Hanmakonda in Warangal district, Nandigama in Krishna district, Ramagundam in Karimnagar district and Rentachintala in Guntur district have also recorded temperature of 45 degrees. This could be general trend until the south west monsoons come.
