The Government is publicising that the cost of commodities will be reduced due to the introduction of VAT. However, the petrol and diesel prices are going up due to it. Since the consumption of petrol and diesel is on a large scale, the effect of these on the common man will also be high. Firstly the cost of bus ticket and auto fares are the immediate reflections. Secondly, the lorries that bring us commodities and vegetables will charge more and so will indirectly effect the cost of the commodities we use.

Utilmately i doubt if VAT will really reduce our cost of living!?

Many traders are opposing VAT. Why did they introduce VAT?

They are reducing taxes on aeroplane fuels but they are not reducing taxes on petrol and diesel.
