| What KCR has said today in his sensational comments tantamount to pure stupidity. Though it is his typical loose cannon statement that he is known for, it really questions whether he wants separate Telangana movement or separate Telangana.
Whether they announce separate T or not, it will be suicidal for Congress to change the CM going into 2009 elections, facing the rejuvenated TDP and the almost certain entry of Chiru into politics. Even otherwise, with his public utterances, he put Congress in a defensive position where they cannot replace YSR. In fact he created a protective zone for YSR, and now he is untouchable. Why would he do such a favor to YSR?
First, he may have doubts whether he can pull this election, and is desperate to convince people that separate T is imminent. Or he is so sure that TRS is merging with Congress after the elections, perhaps the precondition for announcement of separate T. TRS merging with Congress could give him the leverage to replace YSR as a bargain, and hence he took the liberty to make the sensational announcement. |
