I was reavelling in OMER travels new volve bus on 27th boarded at vizag at 6-30pm and for every body's surprise the bus plunged into thick bushes after dashing a tree at 2-30 AM in dark jungle near bunglow in khammam district. The bus dashed the tree when it was in 120+ speed. I was one among all the lucky to come out of the broken glass panes. My seat no. was A2 and i was saved because i used the seat belt provided. I have decided not to travel by these buses unless it is very emergency as the buses around 35 volvos + another 50 non AC buses carrying almost 3000 to 4000 passengers every day to hyderabad testing every body's payience. Even railways imtroduce 2 more direct and daily non stop trains to hyderabad they cannot provide accomodation to all needy. Please see another example of a RTC bus.

Miraculous escape for bus passengers

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: Passengers travelling by a Hyderabad-bound APSRTC bus had a miraculous escape in the early hours of Friday when the vehicle plunged into the Budameru rivulet after hitting a sidewall of the bridge at Gudavalli village on the city outskirts. Nearly 35 persons were in the bus but there were no causalities. Over 20 passengers, however, sustained injuries.

The Gannavaram police said that the incident occurred around 3 a.m. The bus had left the Visakhapatnam depot at 4 p.m. on Thursday and reached Gudavalli around 3 a.m.

The police suspect that driver Gundraju Suryanarayana Raju might have been sleepy when the accident took place. The low water level in the rivulet averted a major tragedy.

The injured were rushed to Government General Hospital. The driver is undergoing treatment for an injury on his leg. A case has been registered.
