| Hi All,
Please place all the health city related news here in this thread.
I have the latest information on this:
recap: 10 days back highcourt of AP has put the health city on hold, based on the petition filed by one person from Vizag saying that the place to grow fodder/grass for the dairy animals is being taken over for the project.
today: The highcourt has lifted the hold and Vuda is now planning to disburse the compensation amounts to the beneficiaries after the formal notice from highcourt.
So lets hope this is resolved soon and we get this world class health city. _________________ Suresh Kumar T.P |

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Apollo Hospitals Group, the largest chain in health care in Asia, will provide a one-stop comprehensive health care facility in Health City at Adarshnagar in the city in a year.
The group will begin work soon on construction of a super-speciality hospital with world-class facilities, including food courts on a par with star hotels, a helipad and well-furnished guest rooms..
The group has been allotted 10 acres in Health City close to the Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences. “We will launch our first phase with 240 beds soon and in the next phase, the bed strength will go up to 500,” Apollo Group Managing Director Sangeeta Reddy told The Hindu.
The Health City project is envisaged to project Visakhapatnam as a destination for health tourism to cater to the people of the Middle East and South East Asia.
Resort planned
Ms. Reddy said tenders would soon be finalised for construction of a three-floor superstructure. Later, it would be expanded. The construction of 240-bed hospital would be completed in a year, she said, but declined to comment on project cost. “The cost will be finalised after tenders and the hospital will be operational during early 2009 with no compromise on our services,” she said.
This will be the 39th location for the Apollo Group in the country.
