Congress leader and Amalapuram MP G.V. Harsha Kumar on Sunday exuded confidence that the party high command would clear the proposal for granting Statehood to Andhra area (Coastal Andhra + Uttar Andhra). Speaking to reporters here, he said he met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi recently and explained to her on the sentiments of Andhra people over baseless allegations being levelled by some of the Telangana leaders. Mr. Harsha Kumar said formation of separate Andhra with Vizag as the State capital would ensure development in the backward areas of the region and described how proceeds from auction of government lands here were being invested for development of Hyderabad.

Asked to comment on the claim of former PCC president and Congress MLA M. Satyanarayana Rao that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had obstructed the formation of separate Telangana, he said whether someone supported or opposed, the final decision would be taken by the Congress high command. The MP said that in the appointment of PCC president, the party president took the decision on her own and hoped that the backwardness in parts of Andhra region would come to an end once separate States were carved out.

Rajamundry as Capital

Meanwhile Jogayya who first raised the slogan of seperate Andhra again has said in a recent press conference that in case a seperate Andhra is carved out, then Rajamundry should be made the capital. He along with others also discussed about MSR's remarks on Telangana.

Perhaps Rajahmundry should be the capital and Jogiahs house should be the secretariat. Any Andhra leader who does not talk about Hyderabad is showing a poor grasp of things.

Yes, you were soo right. First Hyderabad needs to be discussed. Either all Crs of money that CBN bought from world bank for Hyd and its surrundings development should transferred to new T state and its people. All money laundered for each region should beared by its own people or KCR. Either Hyd is made union territory for its development burden should be beared by its own people.

Jogaiah's village is Doddipatla near Palakollu in West Godavari district. He is not resident of Rajahmundry.
