| Sontha kalpitham vaddu. I wrote his introduction when he visited our city after validating some info from him. His ancestors belong to Karnataka part of erstwhile Nizam state. Later on they settled in Hyderabad much before independence. He was born in Alwal, Rangareddy dist, in 1934. He was brought up in Telanagana, did his graduation from Nizam college. Having lived in Telanagana for more than 30 years, the socio economic conditions intensely influenced his formative years as Film director. His movie Ankur, created in Telangana setting, was result of this inspiration.
Not only he doesn’t like the idea of separate T, but he is afraid it will be disaster for Telangana area. Contrary to opinion here, he believes that land locked Telangana has very little resources to survive as state, and maoism will take over rural Northern Telangana, in the same lines as Chatishgarh. He ridicules that when the problem of T, all long , has been the corrupt politicians , feudal environment and power hungry leadership, how separation is going to solve the problem. He squarely puts the blame on Hyderabad centric development that didn’t do much for the welfare of people far away from Hyderabad. |
