| I dont think things like these can be repeated consistently. Almost all major IT companies including Infosys, Wipro and Satyam are on a bit recruitment spree that they are now advance hiring future Engineering graduates too!! Though India still has a large demand for IT pool, i don't think they are as huge as industries, at least, I can say we are building some 'soft' infrastructure. Hope every things goes for a decade... _________________ I like Tomorrow...

In reality, most of the offshore work is still bottom fed. Therefore, with right training, I think Bsc graduates will be able to do the job as well as engg graduates. I agree with you there would be a big difference in talent between Engg vs Bsc. But this is given - the fact that most of them go to BSc (no offence) only as second choice after Engg. But with hard work they can overcome it. Beyond technical skills, they need to work on their softskills, the most critical skill required to grow. |
Webgeek,
Yeah! You are right!
As I see, testing in some of the US based companies is just need to compare the output with expected output and report the bugs to development team. The only difficult task for them is scheduling of the tests. So for this kind of job, I don’t think a guy who has good knowledge of DBMS/OS/Java/C etc. is required? They just need to have exposure to the project. However, we need to have experts for other kinds of testing and development, especially if the guy wants to write a customized test suite for performance or stress test. |
