Charges YSR of misleading the assembly
Hyderabad, December 16, 2006
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) floor leader G. Kishan Reddy demanded that the files relating to the assigned lands surrendered by the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy be placed either before the Governor, Assembly Speaker of Chief Justice of AP High Court before the Assembly meets on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, he charged the Chief Minister with misleading the Assembly and the people by stating that his father purchased the lands although two pieces of assigned lands were registered on June 8, 2006. The land in his daughter’s name was registered a day before he assumed charge as Chief Minister.
He wanted a commission to be set up to reclaim the assigned, endowments, DKT and forestlands from those who held them illegally and distribute them among the poor. Changes should also be made in the Registration Act to ensure that such lands were not registered. |
