Don't forget that Visakhapatnam is a developed one and can't compare with Srikakulam area.

Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam are equally under developed areas of UA. Visakhapatanam is in now way developed. Probably you have mistaken Vizag with Visakhapatnam. Vizag though not full fledged metropolitian, it may soon become one. But, when you say Visakahaptnam then one will understand that you are reffering the district which is very backward. There is huge difference between Vizag and Visakhapatnam.

You are right, most of the time referring to Vizag and surrounding areas. But as you know in any district, there will be villages and other towns wihout much development. Some districtis have multiple cities but not as much developed as Vizag.

Vizag is an exceptional case. If Vizag were to be the capital for AP, today it would have been a competent city to Chennai and Mumbai. Vizag has the required infrastructure and natural resources. Unlike Hyd, which has got nothing and all of them need to be man made. Vizag has lost alomost 5 deacdes to Hyd and still a big city.

Though many of the votes stated as if size of the state effected for underdevelopment of Srikakulum, whatever the area not developed not necessary being a part of bigger state. The local politicians may have a better reasoning, what hurdles they faced if any. We are not talking about just recent politicians.
