It is surprising to note that the Tirumala is appearing in news for apparently wrong reasons.

First there was the issue of non-Hindu religion propaganda. A commission which had a retired DGP and a retired Judge concluded that there is indeed some non-Hindu religion propaganda going on. The Chief Priest of the temple however disagrees with that. Speaking in an interview with a television channel, he says that people of various religions indeed visit the temple every day and that there is no non-Hindu propaganda on the sacred hill ranges.

The second issue is that of the ownership of the hills (and the large acres of lands). TTD governms and support (as the case may be), many temples in Tirumala and Tirupati. As far as the hill ranges are concerned, there is confusion as to wether TTD owns 2 hills or the the 7 hills or even more (There are few years behind Tirumala giri where there are many places of religious importance). I think the Government Order puts it at 2..

it is true that christian org are trying hard to pull down the sacredness of holy seven hills and bjp and allies stronlgly reverting those activities now & then to restore the belief and sacredness across the hills. christian org. have tried many times earlier also and due to tdp firm policies on tirumala they have not succedded to the extent.

and now situation being favoured to christian org. are trying in all posiible ways to penetrate the sacred ring.

ttd main archakas are no exceptions from politics.

people need to firmly condemn these type of infiltration stunts performed by chritian org's.

I am not supporting religious conversions but i don't believe that christian missionaries are doing religious propaganda on Tirumala hill. It is plan of BJP and co for making votes by creating tensions in minds of hindus. Even Tirumala temple priests agreed that no christian propaganda is done on Tirumala hill. Pro-imperialist BJP cannot stop foreign missionaries and their propaganda. BJP senior leaders are open supporters of imperialist America that is funding christian missionaries in India. Religious conversions are strictly restricted only in islamic countries and also in countries like North Korea that are ruled by atheist governments. I don't think that Indian pseudo-secular politicians will restrict religious conversions because they had officialised all religions by name of secularism.

I agree most of what you said about religious conversions. Your description of pseudo-secular politicians is very apt. I also add secularism in India means, a mechanism to grab minority votes. Every political party in India exploits this. Look what TDP is trying to do now.

Coming back to Tirumala, I’ve seen reports of people caught distributing pamphlets for spreading Christianity. But this is like a drop in the bucket. I think people who are averse to YSR are raking this up out of proportion. It is very little to do with BJP who has hardly any followers in our state. They cannot even win one MP seat in AP, why bother. BTW, BJP is so anti-America now , a policy called ‘ye endaki aa godugu’. No party is different in that respect. If CPM comes to power, they will be pro-Amercia too ( you see the glimpses of that in West Bengal) and all others will be anti-America. However, I don’t want to test that theory.
