Looking at the information given by you Bystander, i dont think that Nellore does not require any airport. I suggest the govt spends more money in modernising the exisiting airports. Visakhapatnam Airport for example can be extended and developed to be International class. I am sure many International airliners will get down at Vizag airport atleast for refueling. Since vizag has good defence establishments, upgrading the airport serves two things for us.

You are very correct Mr.Webgreek... I remember an incident in PV's regime about a representation for an airport and vigourous follow up by greedy land lords and traders of Bhimavaram. These people went a step furthur by indicating to the GOI that the construction of air port will be done by them selves. The result is GOI ordering IT raids by more than 200 sleuths from delhi and seizing cash of more than 500 crores from the greedy land lords & traders. Nellore has two air ports in their vicinity and one can drive home by their cars. Establishment of new air port need to be viewed on several angles,in particular the safety and defence.
