Most of you guys might know that the APSRTC is the biggest road transportation in India. If I have to say frankly it should be the biggest one in the World itself.

I observed couple of Facts about APSRTC:

Positive Points:
1. The best coaches we have
2. The best comfort ness in the buses
3. The drivers are more experienced
4. The routes are covering almost every village in AP
5. Different Coaches for all ranges of people
6. More number of Bus Depots
7. Fuel Efficiency ranks first in India (For last 15 years)
8. RTC Accidents are less when compared to any state RTC in India
9. Biggest busstands in the entire Asia
(Came to know that recently chennai got the biggest busstand but not sure)
10. Had some offers like Jet Ticket and CAT Card

Negative Points:
1. Cost is bit more when compared to other state corporations
2. Cleanness is not effective
3. Bus stands are worst (Of course other states one too like this)
but we would have developed more as we have more revenue and we pay some towards the facilities of bus stands
4. Need to give benefit to the passengers some times

What are now we doing to do our best to our pride APSRTC? I see most of the people will try to go on the private buses where they find the cost bit cheaper. But I don’t know how many of them they know they are not insured when they travel on the private services.
- When we travel in APSRTC buses, we are automatically insured.

I see now in most of the villages the people are commuting in Shared Autos and Shared vehicles. But the same people children are using the APSRTC as they were given the Free Pass. How much this is good?

APSRTC is our property. We need to utilize properly for the best to come out. There are some thousands of families are depending on APSRTC. If the government makes that privatization we are the biggest losers.

I will tell you one example that I see the common problem with the private services. For any vacation/festival, since the RTC is unable to operate many services, most of the people will go on private buses. The RTC is strict even at that time that there will not be STANDING in the bus (HITECH/VOLVO). It mean that they will allow only limited number of passengers one for seat. But the private operators will arrange the chairs and benches in the buses, and they will make the passengers to sit there. That’s how it will become when it is totally privatized.

So guys please bring the awareness to the public the importance of RTC and make your friends/families to travel only in APSRTC.

I agree with you that they have some poor condition buses too.
But if you see in the other states, rarely you find good bus. But in AP atleast we have good buses to long distance routes and to the primary cities.

Hmm...really?? Confused 'not sure abt tat......I've felt tat buses in Madras/Kerala r better maintained than ours....
Btw, one more positive point I might add-
More respect for ladies, w/ the first 5-6 rows of seats reserved for ladies, its relatively safer for them to travel comp'd to other state transport buses I've known (esp. heard terrible stories abt wat women passengers usually face in Madras buses! Embarassed Sad Evil or Very Mad )....
