I think every one knows that Nuzvid mangoes are the best ones in the world. Nuzvid is well known for wide variety of mangoes with proper quality as the soiil there supports well for the mango gardens.

Finally the India-USA goverment had agreed upon exporting mangoes to USA. This would be really a very good news for Nuzvid(Mango) Farmers.

The mango farmers are going on in loss for last 6 years and atleast with the start of exporting they will see the fruits of income.

I know that all the market in Nuzvid region came down drastically only with the loss of mango farmers. If once these guys come up, all the business in Nuzvid too grows well.

Lets wish the Mango Farmers all the very best for the exports.

This news is really a good one. Both the farmers and brokers make some money than what they do without the mango exports.

India is well known for mango and it is high time that we serious consider exporting of seasonal fruits. Special incentives should be provided for EOU with focus on export of fruits. If I am not wrong the US Government has banned many food items from being exported to their country from India since a long time. There are many restrictions for those that pass the FDA test.

Secondly, we need to develop (actually implement would be a right word) techniques in ripening of fruits. The Ethylene system used in artificial ripening system that we use is age old. Some farmers still use traditional techniques such as putting fruits in air-tight saw bags to preseve fruits is still used.

If you do a simple search on countries that export mango for the american and european markets, Philippines comes first. The Philippines Mango Farmers use a wide range of techniques and are well aware about the fruit classification system followed in the US. So, they have a clear cut edge over the Indian fruite farmers. Conducting regular awareness camps by agricultural organizations in the country to our farmers will surely help.

Good news indeed. Sure mango prices will go up as usual. This time it will be dollars. If some breed or region relating agricultural products have huge demand. I think government has to take steps in expanding the industry as such. Along with alloting thousands of acres of government lands for mncs they should also alot some land to agriculture industry for its development.
