| Do you think the YSR-led Government is taking open views from all sections of the public on the Polavaram project?
Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that the Government will be holding talks with all major parties on the Polavaram project. He earlier had listened to the views of the public. He even held talks with Engineers and experts as well as with people like Medha Parkar. |

| | CPM is creating all sorts of problems for Polavaram. They had a big rally in Hyderabad. This is Sardar Saraovar project Deja Vu. Also considering there is no balance between budget numbers and the requirement, I think this is a non-starter. |

| I don't understand why opposition parties are agitating on irrigation projects.
CPI/CPM are not happy with the Govt rehabilitaion scheme provided to farmers of the acquired land.
TDP on other hand argues that funds allocated to the projects are high and lot of money is trapped by politicians and contractors.
corruption is always there irrespective of govt , Then why r these parties yelling at ?? _________________ For Better Tomorrow

It appears that the Govt. is not taking into account the environmental issues that are attached to the Polavaram project. The project is supposed to submerge the papikondalu area, one of the beautiful sites along the Godavari, and along with it the flora and fauna of the area. The lives of thousands of tribals who have been living there for hundreds of years relying on the river Godavari. The dislocation likely to be caused on account of the project is an unpardonable sin and the present Govt. will be responsible for submergence of invaluable heritage. |
