"Madduvalasa reservoir" a dream from long time

Madduvalasa reservoirs which is proposed to construct on river Suvarnamukhi is a dream of people of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts from long time. Srikakulam and Vizianagaram are draught hit districts. In time of Chenna Reddy people staged movements for that project. Farmers whose lands will be submerged by Madduvalasa project are demanding more compensation. In TDPs rule not even single penny was spent for any irrigation project in AP. YSR became CM. But he did not give any promise on Madduvalasa reservoir.

In Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts there are many rivers and streams. But reservoirs are less. So these districts are facing draught.

In Srikakulam district only 40% of lands are having water flow facility. In Vizianagaram district only 36% of lands are having water flow facility. In Krishna delta 90% of lands are having water flow facility. YSR is going to spend a lot for Pulichintala which benefits fertile Krishna delta. For Madduvalasa project which benefits draught hit areas he did not give even single penny.
