Industries in Villages Vrs Cities&Towns - A debate

In Srikakulam district there are many jute mills located at villages. There are also cashew industries, paper mills, wire cable factories and other industries located at villages. For setting up industries availability of resources and transport facilities is main factor. It does not matter whether it is town or village. In Jharkhand 78% of people live in rural areas but Jharkhand is highly industrialised state. Andhra Pradesh can be also made highly industrialised state by encouraging agro based industries. If pending irrigation projects complete in Andhra Pradesh, agriculture will increase in our state. Then it will be easy to encourage agro based industries.

one should know the condition of the rural industries today. request members to give good ideas to develop these rural industries by youth now and flourish. I have suggested for setting up rural polytechnics, in the same spirit can we also have more girls ITIs, village industrial development councils, women industrial estates, farmer friendly industrial parks and many with a vision for the next 10 years at least form now.

If we want to encourage agro based industries we should encourage cultivation of commercial crops like cotton, cashew, jute etc. In our state jute is grown only in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. Most of the jute mills in our state are located in these districts only. There are also jute mills in West Godavari and Guntur districts. Those jute mills import jute from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. Jute is alternative product of polythene. Jute industries and crop in our state must be encouraged.

Industrialisation can develop any country. Before communist revolution, Russia was primarily agricultural country. Russian economy moved towards industrialisation after communist revolution. Now Russia is one of the most highly industrialised countries in the world. But Russia is facing some economical problems by some reasons. Some areas in Russia are densely populated. Some areas are almost uninhabited. Huge reserves of mineral resources are found in uninhabited areas. It is difficult to mine minerals in the areas where there is no population. They should construct new town in that area and lay new road route and railway line to that town. Other communist countries like Venezuela, Cuba etc are in much better position than Russia. Venezuela is richest country in Latin America. Venuzuela became very rich by industries and mining. Setting up industries at rural areas can upgrade villages as towns. Migrations from villages to towns cannot solve economical problems. In India, resources are less and population is dense. It is difficult to devlop India in present position. Population must be reduced and resources must be utilised.
