Pl. see:
http://www.andhrabhoomi.net/coverstory.html
When I was a kid I used to hear of traditional remedies for some types of jaundice, and treatment near Tirupati for bone fractures both using some herbal plants. Now, there seem to be efforts to record many of India's
traditional medicines. From:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4506382.stm
"The ambitious $2m project, christened Traditional
Knowledge Digital Library, will roll out an
encyclopaedia of the country's traditional medicine in
five languages - English, French, German, Japanese and
Spanish - in an effort to stop people from claiming
them as their own and patenting them."
People with some knowledge of verifiable local treatments can perhaps contact thiat site.
