Andhra Pradesh is now getting Legislative Council. It may be recalled that the state did have them few years ago but was abolished during the NTR-led Government. There are mixed responses from the public in regard to the introduction of Member of Legislative Council (MLC). Few points here:

1. It is an additional cost to the Government. Estimated Rs 2 crore towards salaries for MLCs, their staff and other maintenance costs
2. MLC will just be a passing members rather than policy framers. They do not really have power to make true contribution
3. Introduction of MLC is only to safe guard the politicians who list the elections and who want to become ministers. (Atleast, the TDP says so)

What are your opinions on the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council?

Already corruption has reached saturation stage in state and I don't think we can digest some more from these extra players.

service(corruption) offered by the existing leaders is enough. nobody is asking for extra.................Yeh dil nahi maange more.

Like it or not - our MLC took oath yesterday and will start proceedings soon. Need to see how well they function.

Was asking this just to get a doubt cleared - Will the GO etc passed by our MLAs go to our MLC's for their approval? If so, wont this delay the process in general?

Rajyasabha and legislative council's job is that. as thred bare discussions by intellegentia( the above bodies are siupposed tobe having people with brins but political khatmals) and put a check on angutachaps. Once pv was asked by mediamen why he delays decisions.. PV smilingly said to them that delaying is also part of decision making.
