Gidugu Rama Murty Pantulu was great telugu literaturist in era of British rule. He was born in village Parvatalapeta in Orissa. He started using easy langauge in telugu literature for convinience of little educated people. Other literaturists opposed him but he did not change his trend.

In another thread, I mentioned a recent book "Gidugu Marosari", Edited by Chekuri Rama Rao and Nadupalli Srirama Raju and distributed by Navodaya Publishing House. On page 283 of this book, there is a list of books about Gidugu. I mention two of the recent ones; one by Akkiraju ramapati Rao, published by Potti Sreeramulu Telugu Viswa Vidyalayam in 1988, and one byV. Janaki publiished by Andhra Balika Arts and Commerce college, Warangal in 1991. I have not seen them but as they are relatively recent, they may be available. His son Gidugu Sitapati (also a collaborator of gidugu Ramamurthy), has published about his father, his reminiscences etc in 1960-61, 62 and 64. I understand that there is an article about Gidugu in Andhra Jyoti in the last two days but I have not been able access it.

Gidugu Rama Murthy Pantulu can be called as glorious literaturist. Telugu literature would not become popular if he had not encouraged simple language in literature.
