| VAT system is also effecting cashew industries in AP especially in Prakasam district. After Palasa, Kasibugga and Sompeta areas in Srikakulam district, Vetapalem and Chinna Ganjam areas in Prakasam district are second leading producers of cashew nuts in AP. Some Kerala companies are purchasing cashew nuts from factories of Palasa and Kasibugga areas and exporting to other countries. Traders in Prakasam district export cashew nuts to other states. In other states, government is collecting 4% tax on VAT for cashew nuts. But in our state, government is collecting 12.5% tax on VAT for cashew nuts. It is severely effecting cashew industry in our state. It is very difficult for cashew traders in our state to compitite with traders of other states. _________________ In India rich people become more rich and poor people become more poor. Mr.Mandangi,
you have writing continuously that Palasa, kasibugga and nowprakasam as leading cashew nut/kernel producers which it self is wrong and please know the actualsituation. Palasa and other etc. paces as you mention are only tiny industries having very age old technics and machinery which cannot give eighther rural employment but certain kanjushi local elements to exploite rural labour and become short term rich in so called above villages.
please note that cashew being grown in AP is having very less productivity per hectare and comparitively less than 50% of Maharastra's production. In AP you mention as some kerala which is wrong and production of cashew kernels, CNSL etc.are only in the hands ofthese kerala cashew kings like Mr.Appakuttan pillay of vijayalaxmi cashew company having 26 units in Vizag and East godavari districts with totalcombined yearly turn over of 1600 crores, these people do purchase local harvest but totally run their units with imported rawcashew nut and regulasrly export to USA, JAPAN, etc.from Vizag and cochin ports. The nextone is OLAM EXPORTS,SINGAPORE HAVING 6 UNITS IN vIZAG HAVING A COMBINED PROCESSING CAPACITY OF 150000 mt(rcn) PER ANUM. THESE TWOCOMPANIES ALONE ARE CREATING A RURAL EMPLOYMENT OF 25000 PEOPLE IN vIZAG DISTRICT PRESENTLY ARE ON A EXPANSION SPREE AND MAY PROVIDE DOOUBLE THE CAPACITY IN THE COMING YEARS.
if you wish to get more and more info please ask for it any thing on cashew in AP will be given to you across. Taxation will never effect any business. Thagevade thati pannu kattukuntadu. the palasa traders are very much greedy and behave like "thalapaga chuttukovadamu raka thala vankara annattu" IF THESE PEOPLE OPT FOR MODERNISATION OF THEIR UNITS THEY CAN DO MIRACLES FOR WHICH ARE NOT INTERESTED.

| New technology machines are costly and it is not easy to change machinery of those factories. Some cashew traders of Palasa and Kasibugga said that they can change machinery if government gives subsidies to them. _________________ In India rich people become more rich and poor people become more poor. | When other states are collecting less taxes, why can't our state also do so? Low taxation can make our state highly industrialised. _________________ People who know much about science become rationalists, people who know much about society and economy become communists and people who have more intrest on cinemas & TV than other issues are useless fellows. |
