attend functions organized by my relatives. Some people also ask me
"why don't you attend marriages and other functions?" I reply to them
in my style. Most of them just ignore my replies and some of them even
consider me as heretic(nijanni nirakarinchevadu). I don't hate those
people who scold me as heretic but I feel pity on them. After all we
are living in a society where more than 90% of people think that
social sciences are different from natural sciences. What can we do
other than feeling pity on their superstitious practices? Once, I said
that I support Chalam's idea that man and woman can live together
without marriage if they trust each other. One person replied that
society won't agree with that trend. I replied to him that we need not
mind about social norms if we really believe that there is nothing
wrong in the practice done by us. Chalam was also believer of gods and
souls but he didn't believe in institutionalized marriage system. I
have little hope that it is possible to break institutionalized
marriage system in this religious society.

Sachin you really have lots n lots of patience to type all this. I really appreciate it. Sorry buddy i dont have as much patience as you have.. but my general views based on the title of the topic:

Surely the human values are degrading day by day. I knew increasing number of people are opting for registered marriages and slowly forgetting to pay the rituals to their family members. Really sad state of affairs.

I don't understand it. Why these people spend so much for marriages and rituals in the name of prestige? It does nothing benefit to society but does benefit to money lenders who make easy money by lending loans to these people.
