The idea of a unified "Telugu Rashtra" sounds very romantic and does lure many and dare say that includes me though intermittently. I do have my bouts where I feel that I wish I dint have to identify myself distinctively while conversing with a person who is speaking the same language as mine but with a different accent. I guess that as humans ( like animals) that it is our primordial nature to identify ourselves to a pack or group.
But the hard fact is that we do not live in an Utopian world ....and in fact far from it. I dont have to go further than this forum to see that how far is the truth from the "romanticized" idea.
The below post epitomizes the great gulf between the two cultures and the people. themselves It is one thing to argue but attacking a regions beliefs and ridiculing is out of the bounds ...And to add more irony, the poster calls him self "Telugu First"

One of them is called is called "Oora Panduga" So colourful and lively it actually puts the brazilian carnival to shame. Its a treat to watch the Potharajus slamming the joginis to the beats of the drums to appease the rain Gods! In sheer display of their heroic acts they slit the throat of a frightened lamb with their bare teeth! all to the cheers of the spectators, who by now are floating in palm wine like the potharajus.
Not to leave out Bonalu...legend has it that one day a villager in the month of Ashadam drunk with kallu slurred Bonalu instead of Bojanalu when asking for meals....and suddenly the whole region which was plagued was cleared of the epidemic! The goddess was pleased and appreciated the new found word..
Hence you see the importance of kallu which has been part of their daily lives and has a tremendous influence on their dialect along with the Nizam's urdu...
Ok History apart,
The festival which by now is very popular, the andhrite settlers apart from making a beeline to have a glimpse of the goddess make sure the festival goes through smoothly without any untoward incidents sittting in the civic offices and the ones in uniforms make sure to whip the a s s e s of kallu drowned morons who are more interested in the women carrying the Bonalu than The Goddess! when they try to dodge their way through the "Palaharam Bandi". All to the rhythmic beats and tunes and pulsating percussions which would put Ustad Zakhir Hussain and Trilok Gurtu to shame.
Not to miss our Potharajus with inflammed minds from kallu ,with their designer margosa leaves around their waist, whipping their own asses to the roaring trumpets...Its such a feast to the eyes! They actually should be brought under endangered species like the mountain gorillas and the apes in the rainforests of Assamand preserved before they are extinct!
Last but not the least the Bathukamma Bathukamma uyyalo song! Did you hear it? It would put M.S's Baja Govindam to shame in terms of Ragam and Talam!

Moron, you actually got away by writing this s h i t for a while. Try you luck in TDF |
If I may ( and if Ved does not delete my post) , I see a parallel between some/majority/all (my sample size is small so I can make a sweeping statement here) Andhrites in general and the above poster ('Telugu First' ) in particular and 'Kim' (our ardent readers in the forum would immediately recognize this character from Rudyard Kipling's book and main character Kim) .For those who have not read the book, Kim is a wastrel born to an Irish soldier roams the streets of Lahore as a destitute until by stroke of destiny becomes a ‘babu’.On transforming into a ‘babu’ he looks down upon the local customs and traditions.
The above post articulates the "hegemonic" relations between the colonizer and the colonized and hence I cannot see though how we ‘are one’. |

| This post by the fella sums up Andhraite's hatred on Telangana.
What baffles me is their repeated song of a unified state, which neither makes any sense nor does it need to be with this attitude which is beastly. Not a single reason has been given so far by the Andhra propagandists on this site, who under the guise of running a forum have been abusing Telanganites and their families and deleting their posts when it becomes too inconvinient to answer the same.
These users here are all disgruntled elements who are similar to the JEHADIS and are illeterate criminals led by Ved. Its a shame that Internet, a very powerful media is being used by these propagandists to unleash their hatred on fellow countrymen and above all on peace loving people who have given them the riches they have.
I too join you whole heartedly in condemning these barbarians who lack civility and pray to god to enlighten and ignite their silly minds. |

| At last you confirmed my suspicions all along that separate Telangana is nothing but egos spurned by differences in accents. Add to it the opportunistic politicians, you get a recipe for a movement that wakes up once in every 10-15 years. Once they get plum positions they move on leaving the movement for next generation of leaders. Pseudo intellectuals, like we see them on this site, become blind followers and take it as a mission to create Andhra hatred, the necessary conduit for rallying support for thier cause. The biggest hypocrisy comes after posting hundreds of hate posts, these people vent their whining that their antics are not being allowed to go to the next level and nobody has the right to challenge them.
I’m assuming this thread is discussing differences in accents and festivals between Andhra and Telanagna that are deep enough to warrant separate state. Please stick to this discussion. If not, and this is another racist hate thread generalizing andhrites and telanagites, I request Chitanya and Legend to indulge in one of the existing threads in new statehood and we will deal with it. Otherwise, this will meet same fate as some other deleted threads. |

NNNOOO...,
Dear VED... with due respect to you, I am surprised at your response to paragraph by "selection at convenience" - from what chanitaya wrote.
I am sure you know the difference between " TELUGU ACCENT (Yaaasa)" and "TELANGANA LANGUAGE (Bhaasha)".
I have done enough study on this, so - discuss with me - instead of chaitanya on this subject.(who, innocently touched the accent word & you wnat to use it now!!)
I already posted once - I know to speak (read/write) 7 Indian languages.
now the reply.......
1. Don't you see "HUNDREDS OF OTHER REASONS" for separation demand? (KINDLY read any telugu newspaper with daily coverage of events organised by several groups fighting for T)
2. If we were to be united, I can see only option is to shift the capital city
3. And if Vizag is made capital or Cuddappah (possible - isn't it?) is made capital for entire, united AP then after few (50) years, people from respective regions will have tears in their eyes. (you know - exactly what I mean)
4. Therefore, it is better we separate for good
5. Else - let us have change in capital location to a mid-point (BORDER locations of NALGONDA, PRAKASHAM, GUNTUR) to remain UNITED.
6. Why not erase the mistakes (breach of -contracts, GO's, trust) of past and create new states.......
Any answers???? |
