In Andhra Pradesh casteism is increasing severely. Politicians who belong to majority caste in their area are encouraging casteism in people of their caste for saving their vote bank. Caste associations are also playing major role in encouraging casteism. In AP there is an association named Kapu nadu. Kapu nadu is well encouraging casteism in kapu and its sub castes like telaga, balija, munnuru kapu, turupu kapu. There are many other organisations like Kapu nadu which are encouraging casteism in people of their caste. In caste associations OC associations are worst than SC, ST, and BC associations. SC, ST and BC associations do dome thing for poor people of their castes. But OC associations never bother about poor people of their castes. Their aim is only encouraging casteism.

All the past Governments have supported castism in public. Even today, reservations are given to SC, ST and BC's. The situtation today is as such that OC's are finding it difficult to get college seats and jobs. Unless the reservation system is abolished and merit based system is introduced, i dont think things will change and nearer.

It should be remembered that Government support to the various castes is to get vote share.

Congress is encouraging casteism in reddies. Majority of the Congress leaders are reddies. TDP is encouraging casteism in kammas. Chandra Babu gave more tickets to kammas in elections because he is kamma. Casteism is high in coastal Andhra, especially in forward castes like kamma, reddy and kapu.
