| Andhra University campus has been quiet last week except for a meeting on the demand for creating a separate State of Uttarandhra, consisting of East Godavari, Visakhapatnam District, Vizag city, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.
Earlier the Uttarandhra Vidyardhi Sena organised a seminar on the demand for a separate Uttarandhra in which senior professors of the university G. Ramachandrudu, S. Surappadu, K. Chandramouli, B. Appa Rao and others and scholars K. Sekhar, Umamahewara Rao and Suryanarayana spoke demanding a better deal for the people of these districts.
They seminar wanted a separate Uttarandhra is announced before forming Telangana and Rayalaseema. Uttarandhra is much backward than Telangana and a separate package is needed for the area, the appointments in the university and the region should be made of locals and more major educational institutions must be set up in the region, like a Grameena University in Srikakulam, special economic zones are needed for Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, the seminar demanded.
A logo of Uttarandhra Rashtra Samiti was released in the campus. Principal of AU College of Law R. Venkata Rao, professors Parvateeswara Rao, K. Chandramouli and Kirla Vijaya Kumar, Ramana Murthy and several student leaders were present.
It may be recalled that the then Director of UGC Administrative Staff College K.S. Chalam, who is now a Member of UPSC, is one of the main promoters of Uttarandhra Vedika, a forum established to high light the needs of the region. |

So, the meeting was not involved with any political parties yet.
Also the meeting didn't ask how the Hyderabad should be treated, rather they want a separate state and some institutions for Vizag, Vizaynagarm, and Srikakulam and without special demands for EG District! Is EG Dist part of Uttar Andhra group or falls under Coastal and a separate group?
Evey 4 or 5 districts want a separate state???? I am not sure whereelse I come across Umamaheswara Rao name but familiar... |

That is the greatest thing in Uttara Andhra. People themselves have taken the responsibility to show cause their decades of backwardness and negligence on behalf of the AP govt. Whereas in other regions political jobless guys, guys denied cabinet berths have raised slogans for their personal gains.

Why should Hyd be discussed in a Uttara Andhra gathering? We never considered Hyd as ours. We are not concerned about Hyd. There others from other regions to bother about Hyd.

Whole of EG doesnt fall under Uttara Andhra, only the forest areas, tribal areas fall under Uttara Andhra, the developed parts of EG are not under Uttara Andhra.

Yes, when people in their own land are made, coolies, when land lords from Kosta migrate to UA and bought lans at cheap cost and tried to dominate our own people. When guily politicians from Kosta, Telangana, Rayalaseema have shared the top political posts and alwayz neglected our region, when 99% of the budget allocations are given to other regions, after 5 decades of state formation, not even a major project is allocated to our regions, when people try and use money and power and suppress our region, THERE IS NO HARM IN DEMANDING A SEPERATE STATE. |
