There was a news that YSR is active in regard to power distibution in the state. He held a meeting on power projects in the state, had a review of the power theft and distributions losses the other day.

Need to wait and see how far the dream of free powert to the farmer sector in the state becomes a reality.

More power projects must be introduced in AP. In AP power consumption increased by giving free power to farmers. Solar energy should be also encouraged for solving power problem.

100 Days Celebrations of Congress Government
Written by Sirasri

Congress completed its 100 days rule so far, after sweeping like a gale in 2004 elections.

The delightful deed that the Congress has done is starting the ‘Sreepada Sagar Project’ at Karimanagar on River Godavari. Five Telangana districts can be benefited with this noble act, when the project completes. Telangana can certainly see its green wetland with this venture. Even the drinking water problem can be solved.

Looking at the other side of the coin, Congress appears to be an undisciplined unit.

In the correlation to the free power boon to farmers, the Congress government waived an approximate bill amount of Rs.1100 Crores. As per the World Bank’s fresh conditions, the free power can be given only to the small farmers. But it is really a Herculean Task for the government to bifurcate big farmers from the small. Even the practices are routine for Indians when such situation arises. A big farmer can implement the ‘divide and rule’ policy. There is a chance for the farmer to divide and distribute huge land to his family members on papers to avail free power. YSR promised this windfall without considering the pros and cons, to win the election.

Lack of unity and throwing cold water on each other within the party has been speaking a lot about indiscipline in this government. When inquired about the discrepancy created because of free electricity boon to farmers, recently, DS stated, “We considered the free electricity boon is the scheme of YSR but not that of Congress party’s”. Whenever an occasion to talk draws closer to DS, he has been trying to loop YSR in his statements.

Apart from this, when Chinna Jeeyar turned his eyes red in the connection of ‘Veyyi kaalla mandapam’ at Tirumala, the Minister of Endowments Mr Satyanarayana Rao got frightened and left to Swamiji’s ashram to state that the government accepted his demand. In another occasion, when YSR was questioned about the declaration of MS that the demand of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy was approved by the government, the former negated it stating, “The words of MS need not be considered”. YSR said this when there was an objection from a few groups in this issue. However, the indiscipline is clearly evident with these incidents.

Coming to naxals issue, it was startling news for the people knowing that the ban was lifted from PWG. Home Minister has been sounding low in this matter from the beginning. Congress has given voice to naxals.

People, now, are eagerly waiting to visualize how better the Congress can organize Krishna Pushkarams and are also all set to compare the same to that of Godavari Pushkarams organized by the then TDP government.

CBN used to purchase power from projects of relatives of TDP leaders at higher price. Dr YSR should reduce cost by purchasing power at low cost.
