Reservations to Muslims

Will the Govt be able to justify the 5% reservation to muslim community because of their backwardness?? I feel there are lots of backward people who are deprived of opportunities in all castes and religions and the Govt is doing so to please the Vote Bank

Poverty is less in forward castes of hindus. Poverty is also less in christians and jains. In rule of muslims rulers muslims were rich. Now many muslims are facing poverty.

Poverty is there in all the castes... there are also Poor..infact very poor in hindu and christians.. Of course Jains are small in number and they have excellent community feeling by which they help the poor in their community. Most of the poor muslims are because of their family size.. they have very large family and cannot support them well

this reservation is just to garner the vote bank and nothing else

In muslims literacy is less. Only illiterates do not follow family planning. In Hindus literacy is less in SC and BCs. Literacy is high in OC and STs. In STs literacy is high because they have more reservation. In India around 8% of population are STs. They have 7.5% reservation. In India more than 40% are BCs. They have only 25% reservation.
