Swayamvaram is a good feminist cinema of famous producer, director and actor Dasari Narayana Rao. Main stars in that cinema are Jaya Prada, Sobhan Babu and Dasari Narayana Rao. In that cinema, Jaya Prada loves Sobhan Babu. Sobhan Babu is unemployed person. Jaya Prada's father opposer her love and fixes marriage of Jaya Prada with Dasari Narayana Rao who is very rich person. Dasari is pakka prostitute. He enjoys with call girls daily. At first he does'nt like to marry and want to enjoy with call girls only. But his mother forces him to marry Jaya Prada. Dasari marries Jaya Prada but he do not change his behavior even after marriage. He tells about his background to his wife that he is a pakka prostitute. He says that she can divorce him and marry another person if she dont like him enjoying with call girls. But Jaya Prada refuses to divorce Dasari due to her strong belief on religious fundamentals. Sobhan Babu gets information about the adress of Jaya Prada and go to the town where Jaya Prada and her husband are living. Sobhan Babu also meets Jaya Prada. Dasari gets doubt on Jaya Prada and Sobhan Babu. Dasari also gets information about past love story of Jaya Prada and Sobhan Babu. Dasari requests Sobhan Babu to marry his wife. Sobhan Babu says that he is ready to marry Jaya Prada if she voluntarily comes with him and otherwise he won't marry her. Dasari plays a drama for joining Jaya Prada and Sobhan Babu. In climax Dasari says "he is feeling sad for prostituting and spoiling modesty of many women. Prostitute like him is not eligible to live with honest woman like Jaya Prada and Jaya Prada must marry Sobhan Babu" and he commits suicide. In suicide note also he writes that his wife must remarry Sobhan Babu.

It is a good story that advocates that justice of woman is more important than religious fundamentals.

Concept of that cinema is looking good to me also. There are many women in our country facing problems by fundamentalism. Famous feminist author Mr Gudipati Venkatachalam was very much popular personality than Dasari Narayana Rao.

In one of the stories of Gudipati, There is a husband who is having much love on his wife. Wife maintains illegal relation with one person. It comes to the notice of the husband. He tolerates his wife's illegal relation with another person by strong love on his wife. Wife continues her illegal relation with her s*ex partner as her husband is tolerating it. After a time husband thinks that he is not the right person to live with his wife. He recommends his wife to divorce him and marry her s*ex partner. Though his wife is having illegal relationship with another person, she is also having love on her husband. At first, she refuses to divorce him. But husband makes his wife to agree with his proposal. Finally she divorces her husband and marries her s*ex partner.

I am not trying to encourage illegal relations. Some people get attracted to illegal relations by mental weaknesses. Normally man harasses his wife if she maintains illegal relation with another person. He don't think about that why his wife is maintaining illegal relation with another person. Thinking about the reason for wife maintaining relation with other person is not wrong.

Women will not face any basical problem by divorces and remarriages. If she feels difficulty in living with her husband, she can divorce and remarry without any fear. My aunt Kalavaty was first married to a person of a oriya family. Her husband and his family members are fundamentalists. They used to impose unncessary rules and restrictions on her. She divorced her husband. After some time she married my uncle Hari Prasad Mandangi. He is not fundamentalist. He did not impose any unnecessary rules and restrictions on her. They are living happily without any problem. Fundamentalism that advocates male domination is causing many divorce cases in India.

Nowadays no one is producing good cinemas like the cinemas produced by Dasari in past. Our producers are often producing teenage love story cinemas or faction cinemas. Dasari entered politics and other businesses and stopped producing cinemas. It is our bad luck.
